OverDrive (April ’09) is extremely happy with its long-timer Mahindra Xylo which combines attributes of a city car and a weekend getaway splendidly. The ride quality is awesome as the Xylo glides over potholes and speed breakers with élan and SUV like ground clearance and on highways the engine is just superb – refined and never underpowered. On the inside the high driver’s seat ensures all-round visibility the only grouse being the feel of the chunky shift knob. What OverDriver’s would have also liked are steering mounted controls for the music system. The best feature undoubtedly being the parking sensors which are always spot-on.
Passenger comfort is great too with oodles of space and nifty cubbyholes all over. Plus separate blowers for the rear keep it cool even in the scorching heat.
The Xylo is pretty efficient for its size too delivering close to 10kmpl in the city and 13.3kml on the highway.
