Festive offers and price cuts mean win-win situation for buyers.
Prices
we have seen
we had crowned the Fiat Adventure, which came with a Rs 1.5 lakh cash
discount, as the ‘Deal of the Month’ in the January 2004 issue.
Some Fiat dealers who still have an Adventure or two left in stock, are
trying to give the car away for less. A dealer outfit in Pune sold a petrol
variant of the station-wagon for around Rs 6.75 lakh inclusive of insurance
and registration. What’s more, the dealer also offered a DVD player
with a roof-mounted LCD screen free of cost. That’s value for sure.
DEAL OF THE MONTH
Mitsubishi
Lancer LX Liquid Range
base variants are normally the best-sellers of the range,
thanks to their low price and some value-added features. Ditto with the
Mitsubishi Lancer LX which comes with a few more goodies than usual.
Hindustan Motors has introduced a new line-up of LX variants calling it
the ‘Liquid Range’. The name reflects the grade of paint that
the variant comes coated with. ‘Liquid’ paint gives better
finish and gloss to the metal surface on which it is coated and also reduces
maintenance.
The LX is offered in five colours — Liquid Black, Liquid Blue, Liquid
Green, Liquid Red and Liquid Yellow. The Lancer LX also comes with the
inevitable rear spoiler and body-coloured wheel rims fitted with black
hub-caps bearing the Mitsubishi logo. The integral headlamp units are
borrowed from the LE (1.8 Invex) and the car’s body comes with ‘Liquid
Range’ decals.
On the inside the LX offers attractive, new fabric upholstery with matching
door
trim and sporty brush-aluminium accelerator, brake and clutch pedals.
At a premium of Rs 10,000 over the ex-showroom price of the regular LX,
HM hopes to lure young and enthusiastic cars buyers towards the flashy
‘Liquid Range’ Lancer.
