What it is:
The double locking feature makes it virtually impossible for an intruder
to open a locked vehicle door without key or remote transmitter (key fob),
from outside or inside. Even breaking open a window will not enable a
thief to unlock the door who must attempt entering through the window
to steal the vehicle.
How it
works:
Double locking is activated by turning the key in a specific sequence
(toward locked position twice within 3 seconds). With remote keyless entry
(RKE), double locking is activated by pressing the 'lock' button twice.
Double locking is deactivated by unlocking the door, either with remote
transmitter or key. To reduce possibility of locking people inside the
vehicle, the double lock can be activated only when the ignition is off.
Customer
benefit:
Increased security for parked vehicles.
Industry
status:
Available on European vehicles.
